Unit 2: Stop it inventing · Lesson 3 of 4 · about 6 min
Compare products when sources disagree
You want a cordless vacuum under $350. You found three sources about the same model, and they do not agree.
You're practising: Getting your AI to show both numbers when sources disagree, instead of quietly picking one.
The mistake to catch: AI fills gaps with confident guesses: an answer only you know, "done" for unfinished work, one number when sources disagree.
1. Open the prompt
Open Compare a big purchase with a saved research briefand copy its prompt into your AI. Any AI works.
2. Give it this sample data
Model: Breeze V8 cordless vacuum (sample) Source A, the maker's page: "Up to 60 minutes of run time." Price $349. Source B, an independent review test: "We measured 40 minutes on standard power." Price seen: $329 on sale. Source C, a big retailer listing: price $399, run time not listed.
Your task: Ask your AI for a short comparison: run time and price by source, where the sources disagree, and what to check before buying.
3. Paste your AI's answer
