Quick answer
Ask for a grounded brief on one topic, drawn only from what people actually said in the last 30 days across Reddit, X, YouTube, TikTok, Hacker News, Polymarket, GitHub, and the web. The brief separates what people complained about, what workarounds they shared, and what is still unclear, instead of summarizing old articles about the topic.

What does this setup do?
Before you build a feature, pick a price, or write a post, find out what people actually said about the topic in the last 30 days, with sources you can check.
Who is it for?
For founders, writers, and builders who need fresh, grounded signal on a topic and want to tell the difference between a real complaint and a repeated talking point.
How do you set it up?
Tools
- The last30days template by Matt Van Horn, added from the public bot marketplace
- The public last30days skill repo, installed once for first-run setup
- Your topic written as one sentence, plus the places you want checked first
Steps
- Add the last30days template and run its first-run setup once, including the free credits and sign-ins it asks for. Skip any source you do not want checked.
- Ask for one topic in one sentence, and name the window: the last 30 days only.
- Read the brief it returns and check at least two of its source links before you act on any claim.
- Separate the findings into three lists: repeated complaints, concrete workarounds people shared, and questions the brief could not answer.
- Use the brief to pick the next step, such as people to interview or a claim to test, not as proof that a market exists. Volume of discussion alone does not establish demand.
Example output
Illustrative. Your results will differ.
- Brief on one topic, last 30 days only, with source links
- Repeated complaints grouped, workarounds listed separately
- Open questions listed plainly, not filled in

Research what people actually said about this topic in the last 30 days: [one-sentence topic]. Check Reddit, X, YouTube, TikTok, Hacker News, Polymarket, GitHub, and the web. Return a grounded brief with three sections: repeated complaints with a source link each, concrete workarounds people shared with a source link each, and questions the sources did not answer. Do not summarize articles older than 30 days, do not invent quotes, and do not claim demand from discussion volume alone. If a source cannot be checked, say so instead of citing it.Try it on sample data first: Check which sources were actually searched, a free 5-minute exercise that checks your AI's answer instantly.

What usually goes wrong?
Where agents tend to stall on this job. More patterns in Where AI gets stuck.
- A brief that mixes in older material; ask again with the 30-day window stated explicitly.
- A source link that does not open; treat that claim as unverified until you find it another way.
- Discussion volume read as demand; volume shows attention, not buyers.

What tips make it smoother?
- One narrow topic per brief. Broad topics return broad briefs.
- Check the skill version about once a month, since the template checks its public repo for updates on that schedule.
- Keep secrets out of the setup: sign in through the paths the template offers, and never paste keys into chat.
