Unit 3: Check its math · Lesson 1 of 4 · about 6 min
Pull vendor bills into one table
It is Oct 30. Your inbox has three vendor bills and a note from your crew. You want one table for your bookkeeper, with anything late flagged.
You're practising: Getting exact amounts and due dates out of bills, adding them up correctly, and flagging what is past due.
The mistake to catch: AI totals look right and are often wrong. Make it show the math.
1. Open the prompt
Open Extract vendor invoices and bundle the month for accountingand copy its prompt into your AI. Any AI works.
2. Give it this sample data
Today: Oct 30, 2026 1. Pine Ridge Lumber - Invoice INV-5521 - $2,184.60 - due Nov 14, 2026 2. Haul-It Waste - Invoice 88213 - $425.00 - due Oct 25, 2026 3. Summit Shingle Supply - Invoice SS-1097 - $3,920.00 - due Nov 29, 2026 4. From your crew lead: "Truck 2 needs new tires before next week."
Your task: Ask your AI for a table of the bills (vendor, invoice number, amount, due date, status), the total, which bill is past due, and anything in the inbox that is not a bill.
3. Paste your AI's answer
