What does this setup do?
Set up a daily scheduled AI task that finds new job posts for your target roles, scores them against your criteria and sends a shortlist of 5.
Who is it for?
Job seekers who spend an hour a day scrolling boards and want a short, scored list instead.
How do you set it up?
Tools
- ChatGPT or Grok Bot with scheduled tasks and web search
- Your criteria: roles, pay floor, location, dealbreakers
Steps
- Write your criteria: 2 or 3 target titles, pay floor, location or remote, and 3 dealbreakers.
- Create a daily scheduled task with the prompt below. OpenAI documents scheduled tasks in ChatGPT as one-time or recurring, with push or email notifications.
- For the first week, open every link and check the score was fair. Adjust your criteria if not.
- Apply only to the shortlist; skip the rest.
- Add each one you apply to into your application tracker.
- Review the criteria every two weeks.
Example output
Illustrative. Your results will differ.
- 9/10 Operations Coordinator, Northwind (remote, $62k to $68k): matches title, pay and remote
- 7/10 Office Manager, Bayside Dental (on-site 12 miles): pay listed, on-site
- Dropped: 4 reposts, 2 with no company name

Copy-paste prompt
Adapt bracketed fields to your situation.
Every weekday morning, search for job posts from the last 24 hours and send me a shortlist.
Target roles: [TITLES]
Pay floor: [AMOUNT]
Location: [CITY OR REMOTE]
Dealbreakers: [e.g. no salary listed, unpaid trial work, relocation]
For each post: score 1 to 10 against my criteria and give one line why.
Drop reposts of the same job, posts older than 7 days, and posts with no company name.
Send only the top 5, each with the link. If fewer than 5 fit, send fewer. Do not apply to anything.Newsletter

What usually goes wrong?
Where agents tend to stall on this job. More patterns in Where AI gets stuck.
- Criteria too broad, so the shortlist is noise.
- Trusting the score without opening the post.
- Letting the task apply on your behalf.
Which chat tools work with this prompt?
Paste the prompt into any of these assistants (free or paid tiers).
- ChatGPT
- Grok Bot
Common questions
- Can AI search job boards for me every day?
- Yes, with a scheduled task and web search. Have it score posts against your criteria and send a short list.
- Should AI apply for jobs for me?
- No. Let it find and score posts; apply yourself with a tailored resume.
- What if the results are poor?
- Tighten the titles and dealbreakers and check the first week of results by hand.
What tips make it smoother?
- Specific titles beat broad ones; add the titles companies actually use.
- A pay floor filters faster than anything else.
- Five a day you apply to well beats fifty you skim.
