Quick answer

After the pitch, leave one page: the problem, your approach, proof, price shape, and next step. The AI drafts it from your notes so it is ready before you walk in.

What does this setup do?

Draft a one-page leave-behind that summarizes your pitch: the opportunity, your approach, proof, commercial snapshot, and the decision needed.

Who is it for?

Solo operators and freelancers who pitch in person and want something to stay behind when they leave.

How do you set it up?

Tools

  • A chat AI (free tier works)
  • Your pitch notes: the client problem, your recommended approach, your proof
  • Your price shape: package, fee basis, timeline
  • Google Docs or Word for the final layout

Steps

  1. Before the meeting, write down the client-specific problem in one sentence.
  2. Note your recommended approach in one sentence, plus up to three workstreams.
  3. Pick your single strongest proof point: a result, a testimonial, a relevant past job.
  4. Write your commercial snapshot: scope, fee basis, timeline, key assumption.
  5. Paste it all plus the prompt below into the AI.
  6. Lay the draft out on one page: headline, three to five labeled blocks, one decision block at the bottom.
  7. Print a few copies or save as PDF. Bring it to the meeting and leave it behind.

Example output

Illustrative. Your results will differ.

  • Your input turned into a clear, prioritized plan
  • Next 3 actions with dates, in priority order
  • You stay in charge. The agent just organizes.

Copy-paste prompt

Adapt bracketed fields to your situation.

Draft a one-page leave-behind for my pitch. Scannable, plain language. One decision story, not a brochure.

Client: [CLIENT NAME / TYPE]
Their problem in one sentence: [PROBLEM]
My recommended approach in one sentence: [APPROACH]
Up to three workstreams: [1], [2], [3]
My proof (one compact example with real context): [PROOF: do not invent any part of it]
Commercial snapshot: scope [SCOPE], fee basis [e.g. fixed fee / per visit], timeline [TIMELINE], key assumption [ASSUMPTION]
Next step I want: [e.g. "approve the proposal by Friday"]

Structure the page:
1. Headline: the client-specific outcome, not my company name.
2. Current gap: one or two plain observations about their situation.
3. Recommended approach: the strategy plus the workstreams.
4. Proof: the compact example above.
5. Commercial snapshot: scope, fee, timeline, assumption: one line each.
6. Decision block: who decides, what action, by when.

Rules: keep it to one page. Every claim from my inputs only. The reader should be able to repeat the offer and the next step after one read.

What usually goes wrong?

Where agents tend to stall on this job. More patterns in Where AI gets stuck.

  • Cramming twelve slides onto one page. One page means one story: opportunity, approach, proof, price, next step.
  • Generic headlines. "About our services" says nothing. "Cut your turnover cleaning time in half" says everything.
  • No proof, or invented proof. One real example beats a page of claims.

Common questions

Paper or PDF?
Bring paper to in-person meetings. It stays on the desk after you leave. Send the PDF as the follow-up email attachment the same day.
What if I do not know their exact problem yet?
Then you are not ready for a leave-behind. The page needs a client-specific headline. Do the discovery first, write the page second.
Can one page really hold pricing?
It holds the shape of pricing: package, fee basis, timeline. The detailed quote comes separately. The page answers "what will this cost me, roughly" at a glance.

What tips make it smoother?

  • Write it before the meeting, not after. You will be sharper and it doubles as your pitch outline.
  • The decision block is the most important part. Name the approver, the action, and the date.
  • Match the words to what you said in the room. If the page contradicts your pitch, it creates doubt instead of confidence.
  • A live link version can beat a PDF for some buyers, but print still wins in rooms with no screen.
